ABOUT THE PROJECT (WANTED) 

                
     There  are several people now who are working on this project. Our aim is
to  create  a  powerful  software  package, allowing music recognition of high
quality. There are several groups making research in this field, but there are
no  good programs. For successful progress of this project cooperative work of
many  people  is  required. The project is an open venture, and we are looking
for participants. The project is not commercial now, so we neither recieve any
money  nor  ask  users  for  them.  However  this may change in future. We are
especially interested in following suggestions:

To participate in this project, you need not neccessary to be a
professional, but you need interest and possibility to work on this project.

  Details :

               1.Gathering information
We have competitors. Above this, there are articles and discussions in
news conferences. It is important to collect and process as much material on
this area as possible. Recieving of News is also neccesary. You will
need access to Internet.

               2.Programming
  This program could be divided into several blocks (for example, interface,
calculating spectrum, stripping notes and so on). The number of such blocks
is large enough, and every block can be made by one or few programmists.
The number of ideas we do have now is much more than we can implement. You
should have some experience in C++ programming.

               3.Publicity
 We want everyone interested to know about us. In spite of the fact that
there are few competing products we have recieved some letters saying
that ours is the only one they managed to find. Besides that, there are
people thinking that this problem can never be solved. It is necessary to
register our program at Search Systems, Program archives, conferences,... .
You will need Internet access.

               4.Marketing
 It is interesting to investigate the ways of commercial use of this software.
There are persons which even make use of this unperfect version. We want to
know the volume of the market, customers type, prefferable selling scheme
(Shareware, Commercial version, ..) and possible pricing. It might be neccesary
to organize polls (probably on our site), analysis of marketing policy of our
competitors and other methods of information searching. We would like to
hear your ideas on this terms.

               5.Testing
After the "release" of the first working version 2.0 and before publishing it
we found 5 serious unevident bugs (bad refresh of dialogs, mismatches in
length of edit contorls, access of memory outside an array and so on).
They were corrected. New versions will contain errors too, so we need somebody
to test the program in different situatons. It's hard enough for programmers
who made it. Also it's interesting to find out if the program is applicable
for different music and to make good samples of its work. You will need some
small knowlege on computers and some time to examine the program.

               6.Sponsors
Program version 1.9 was downloaded by more than 6000 people. For version
2.0 we plan even more. We can insert your advertisments into WEB page
and/or inside program itself.
